Dr. Bill Ziegler

Learn how technology can improve teaching and learning, along with best practices for supporting your vision for technology at scale

Dr. Bill Ziegler is the Worldwide Program Manager for Apple Distinguished Schools. Bill has served as a public school educator in the Philadelphia area for 29 years, 24 of those as a school administrator. He has served as a high assistant principal, middle school principal, and as a high school principal. Dr. Ziegler was honored to be recognized as the National Association of Secondary Schools 2015 Digital Principal Award Winner, the 2017 Pennsylvania Principal of the Year, and as a 2019 Apple Distinguished Educator. Bill served as a board member and the Treasurer for the National Association of Secondary School Principals and as the President of the Pennsylvania Principals Association. Bill is the author of three books with his latest published through ASCD entitled “Trauma Sensitive School Leadership: Building a Learning Environment to Support Healing and Success. He resides in the Philly area with his wife of 28 years and their two grown children. Bill spends his time cheering on his favorite Philly sports teams, fishing in local streams, and enjoying time with his family and friends.

The "AI train" has left the station - are we on it? Author and professor Julie Smith will explore the transformative power of AI and how we can harness the unlimited possibilities to foster personal and engaging pedagogy as well as increase our own productivity with various AI tools. The "future ready" student should know how to evaluate and implement AI materials - as should we.

Julie has been on faculty at Webster University in St Louis for 22 years, is the author of "Master the Media: How Teaching Media Literacy Can Save our Plugged-In World", and is the Co-Host of the "What the Media" podcast. She has been interviewed by the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Arizona Republic and Associated Press, is a regular guest on KMOX radio and KMOV television, and has presented in fourteen countries on four continents.
